is my dog scary looking?

He's adorable. However, he looks like a big boy. As a Great Dane owner, I can tell you that people are afraid of larger dogs, even though they typically are calmer and less likely to bite than small dogs. (We also have 2 pocket dogs, and they are much more likely to nip at someone that our big dogs.) He also looks young, and young dogs can be a little intimidating because you really never know what they'll do next. But do I think he's scary? Not a chance. He'd be welcome to come and play in my dog yard anyday.

I think he is cute. People can be afraid of the unknown. I have a very large dog that would rather slobber all over a person then bark at them, but everyone is scared of him. This can be a good thing when strangers are involved. I am sure your friends all know he is not bad and that's what really counts. (What's his name?)

Is he aggressive when your not around? Is he aggressive in any way when you ARE around? does he bark at others?

It depends on what he does, people are probably scared of him because he barks, or anything unusual. Honestly, he's really cute to me. But i wouldn't be surprised if people were hiding from him if he was being aggressive.

And above all, does he bite, growl, or chase others? You should pay attention to him, if he does whatever i listed, there is your awnser. If not, they must be crazy.

On a scale of 1 - 10, one being Dakota Fanning and 10 being Tom Cruise, I'd say your dog is more of a Dakota Fanning.

He's a cutie! Maybe he is a big dog, or does he bark a lot? Barking and large size dogs seem to intimidate people.

Does he always have his tongue out like that, though? The teeth-baring probably doesn't help.

No I think your dog is very cute! How could anybody think that dog was scary? Maybe they really like your dog and they are just saying that to get your goat?

He's cute, but he looks big and some people get run over my big dogs. Looks like he can bite my head off XD

but I reckon if I see him walking with you and his ears are up and tongue not sticking out....he would a little intimidating but still VERY cute

No, but he looks like he might be hyper. If he is, that may be why. Hyperactivity can sometimes be misconstrued as meanness. I had a Husky who was EXTREMELY hyper and LOVED people, but his jumping and barking and excitement scared people away.
