How do I get back the options that disappeared from top of my computer screen? (file, edit, view, favs....etc?

I'm a new computer user and I don't understand how this has happened. Is there something simple that I can do to restore it?

Considering you haven't told us what program you are running, I'm going to assume it's Internet Explorer.

At the top of the screen you should see icons. If you move your cursor over the icons there should be text that pops up telling you what the icon will do (print, home, etc.) Move your cursor to a point on that part that's not on a icon and right click with your mouse. That should bring up a menu choice. Left click on "menu bar" and you will see what you seek.

If for some reason you pressed the F11 key, just press it again to bring back what you lost.

    Hope this helps!

Right click somewhere on the bar at the top of internet explorer (near where it's supposed to be) and tick the "Menu" option, should be at the top of the list.

Right click on the tool bar and click on menubar you will get it back - you have not mentioned for which program.
