I want to do something special for my wife on Sweetest Day?

I want to do something special to show her how much she truly means to me. Beyond going out to dinner, or buying her something lavish, anyone have any special ideas?

Take her out to do things she enjoys that you don't really like to do. Like watching romantic movies and going with her to get a pedicure or just shopping. Also make sure you do all the chores for her and have her be able to relax all day. Cook her dinner and give her your full undivided attention. Ask her about her day and really engage in great conversation.

Give her a good Bible lesson.

    I recommend Gensis 2:18.

I wrote the following for my wife and put in in her Valentine's day card.

    Subject ~ The Helpe Meete

Scripture ~ Genesis 2:18 ( As translated for King James in 1611)

Also the Lorde God saide, It is not good that the man should be himself alone: I wil make him an helpe meete for him.

So for the sake of this brief study lets look at the word “meete” as this is where many Christians seem to misunderstand just what exactly it was that God made for the first man once He noticed, from nearly the beginning of time, that this part of His creation was flawed or otherwise incomplete.

The word “meete” comes from the old English words “gemetan” “metan” and “findan” which all point toward the verb “find” “encounter” or “discover”.

Also derived from the roots of “meete” is the word “mete”.

As a transitive verb from the Old High German “mezzan” or Latin “modus” means to measure. Greek “medesthai” is to be mindful of or to care for.

The word “mete” as a noun indicates a boundary or other limit.

So I think that it’s safe to conclude at this point that God’s intent in the creation of the first woman was not simply as a helper or companion as so many would like to believe but also as an encounter with a point of reference by which he can measure and be measured. A precious work of art to be ever mindful of and cherished in the same way God cherishes us. A vessel into which he can pour his love, the same love God shares with us. A mirror that will reflect the measure of the man so that he can discover his boundaries and limits.

I remember asking once “How do I deserve this?”. Neither of us had an answer but it was obvious that I don't. I don't deserve nor have I otherwise earned anything that I have received by His grace. There isn't anything that I could have done in this life to deserve to be so richly blessed. All I can do is humbly accept His gifts and be thankful for the generous blessings I so thoroughly enjoy.

I know I've said it before but I'll say it again. You're a gift from God.

A treasure that I do so dearly cherish and love.

    I Love You!

Do something out of the ordinary. Combine romantic things that don't often go together. Like read romantic poetry and make love out in the wilderness. Use your imagination along with the options immediately available to you. Don't focus on spending money...there are plenty of great thibgs to do that don't cost anything. Good luck. What the hell is "Sweetest Day" anyway? Is that one of those new holidays? Do we get off from work for it?

You and her go to the spa together and then you cook her a candle light dinner. after that give her something very special like a sweetheart necklace or a ring with a card. Also in all of this make sure you put your arms around her and play a slow song that you both love and tell her that you love her and that this night is for both of you.

Well, start with thinking about what she truly means to you. What is it? Write it down. Journal it. Then, think... what does she really like? Love? Put that all in together and see what you get. Make it about her. Maybe your words are enough. Does she thrive on words of affection? Is she a touch person>? Does she like gifts best (does she give lots of gifts)? Does she like things done for her as a sign of affection? Address the words of your feelings into her method of feeling loved and go for it.
