you can always get cash. you only need 1 form of ID, and the amount you get back in cash is a lot smaller than what you would get in store credit (and they will try to sell the hell out of the store credit). It's usually about 30% less the average credit amount.

I know for a fact that they ask you if you want store credit trust me the cash is good but store credit can also help you if you want a different game. If they don't ask you bring it up and remember that this is you game and your money so don't be scared to ask. The cashier will check your game and see how messed up it is and how old it is. Of course the better the condition of the game the more credit they will give you for it. The store credit will be more than what they will give you of cash, the difference is not that bad. I took a game that was in good condition and was about a year old. The game was worth 10 bucks in store credit, I asked how much it would be for the cash and they said it would only be about 6 bucks (not that much of a difference). I hope that this has been useful to you. If you have any more questions about this E-mail me at Manxxx16@yahoo.com.

I work at a Gamestop in stockton, CA. You can get cash but you'll get 20% less than you do if you get store credit and you have to be 18 to get cash.

you need 2 forms of id for cash and the store keeps 5 % of the cash you get back

and with store credit you can get something of equal value

Source(s): no id is needed for store credit (yes you have a choice)

The cashier will usually put large amounts on a GameStop/EB Games card, but you CAN tell him you want cash.

From what I'm reading here, they only offer store credit. I'd try ebay if you're looking for cash.
