Classic story. Somebody creates a monster and then the monster turns on the creator.
McCain & Palin - look at the monster you have made. You can't control it anymore. What's that feel like?

The real reason is simple. Many conservatives have been influenced so much by talk radio and Fox News that they actually believe the "entertainment." They believe the "facts" they are told on a daily basis. They are utterly convinced that the "mainstream media" is lying every day. They are convinced that Obama and the Democratic party want to usher in socialism. They are convinced the Democrats hate this country and what it stands for. They are convinced that Obama will destroy the country. So when McCain gives them some "straight talk" they don't believe him. They can't believe him because it would go against everything they believe in. To believe McCain would mean that they would realize they have been lied to, brainwashed, and used. They don't know what they believe in anymore, and that is the main cause of the collapse of the conservative movement as we know it.

At least he has the guts to tell the truth and try to put an end to the character assassination going on:
"McCain was booed by his own supporters Friday when, in an abrupt switch from raising questions about Barack Obama's character, he described the Democrat as a "decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States."
I applaud McCain for his guts! Thank you McCain!
Obama/Biden!

Me thinks McCain is just thinking ahead--if Obama gets in office, he will remember McCain's behavior during the campaign. McCain is trying to undo some damage.
The sickos yelling "off with his head" in reference to Obama are just angry psychos. GOP should look at why they attract such "ones."

His crowds are not voting for Mccain.. They are listening to the radio, therefore.. They hate Obama and are voting AGAINST him.. They pray to the airwaves..
BTW -- Mccain needs the independants to vote for him.. Obama bashing only appeals to these weird Dem senator killing, chuch shooting right wing wackos... Obama bashing wasn't working to get Mccain the white house, it was a change of strategy.. The people booing will vote Mccain no matter what he says..

Wow I just asked a similar question. It's quite clear that McCain's supporters are far more evil than he is. Actually, I wouldn't describe McCain as evil, he just appeals to evil people.

It's not crazy, he did plenty of **** to piss off "good ole' boys." Not all Republicans are neo-conservatives. Many of them don't think McCain if making good decisions. One of these "bad decisions" was choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate. That's my reasoning, but what do I know about Republican affairs, I'm Democratic

Yeah, well.... that's what happens when you walk the line, and don't play into partisan politics.
Imagine if Obama said McCain is a genuinely nice guy and we should respect him. He'd lose support, that's why he keeps railing on the fact that he's old.

he got them all crazy and now they're spiralling out of control so he's trying to control the crowds but the want to bash Obama.

Republicans can't handle the truth. He told the truth on Obama, that is why he was booed.
