I am trying to put up a ceiling fan. It has 3 wires- blue ,black, and white. The ceiling has 3 wires coming from it - white, black, and red. Can you tell me which wires connect together? Thank you !!!

Depends on how it's wired at the switch. I did all of mine black to the fan (black wire) and red to the light (blue wire). Try it one way, and if it's backwards you can change the wiring at the switches. Hope this helps.

Assuming you are in US, and your house is wired using the standard color scheme.
More than likely, the wires from your ceiling are wired THIS way:
Black - power to the fan
White - neutral
Red - power to the light in the fan fixture
Now, the wire from the fan
White is almost always neutral wire
Black is almost always power wire for something (fan?)
Blue is what's left. If you have lighting in the fan, perhaps it is for that.
You should look at the wires themselves. Often, manufacturers put labels on the wires themselves. If not, consult your manual.
If you see green wire, it's ground. Tie it to the bare wire that's in your ceiling.
