These are the best out of the list - and I've read about 80% of them.
The chosen - or anything else by Chaim Potok
Color purple - good, but you probably already know the story from the movie
The bluest eye - excellent - excellent excellent
Siddhartha - one of my all time faves - read it about 10 times
The Yellow Wallpaper - wierd but good (you either love it or hate it.
I hated the life of pi - at least the second part, some of the classics you have listed can be boring, so make sure you are committed to finishing them, or read them when you are older (I read war and peace as a teen, then again recently - so much better as an adult!)
edit - of course Anne Frank tops most people's lists and if you haven't read it should read it some day.

OK...this list is way too long. lol.
My favorite book of all time is "Wuthering Heights". I would strongly recommend it. However, it can be a bit complex.
"The Yellow Wallpaper" is also a fantastic story, and it's actually a short story. I read it again just the other day, in fact, after someone else asked a question on here about it.
"Jane Eyre" is also a wonderful book, and it's a really easy read.
Yeah...even though "Wuthering Heights" is my favorite book, I'd probably recommend "Jane Eyre" for a book report.

haha...
that was my sophomore year reading list. Try The Diary of Ann Frank. It was pretty good, and it isn't that difficult of a read. There are a few other ones (Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights) that were good, but they are much harder and will take longer to read. Plus, those are written in old english....

If i were you i would choose between:
Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl Anne Frank
Pride and Prejudice Jane Austin
Wuthering Heights Emily Bronte
I would do Wuthering Heights, but all of these three are pretty good.
I hope i helped! =]

It's not on your lest, but a book I would recomend for a report is "Digital Fortress" by Dan Brown. It is a very good book for reports because it has tons of different characters, settings, and all that other good stuff that teachers like to see on the reports.
