How would you go about finding out the sentence in a criminal case that was not in your state?

I need to know what the sentence was in a case I found out about on-line, but can't seem to find anything about the sentencing in the local papers where the case was prosecuted, or on the prosecutor's web site links, or anywhere else for that matter. All I know is when the sentencing was set for and where, and the defendant's name.

Update:

The state the prosecution took place in was Pennsylvania, but I believe it was a federal case, as it was presented by the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Most states have a department of corrections web site. Search the state name and DOC. Florida has a very good one.

    hi,

Many private investigators have access to a database of federal court cases. Call one near you and they can review the docket. Many federal court dockets are online so it may not be too costly.
