Anyone know some good Books on Afghanistan?

Hello,

I am looking for a good and trusty history of Afghanistan for the last twenty to thirty years. I would also like a good account of the war there and the Operation which took down the Taliban.

I see a lot of books dealing with Iraq but I do not see as many for Afghanistan it seems.

Any tips or must reads?

Thanks!

This is not exactly a history book but very accurate as to the culture for the last 30 years:

The Storytellers Daughter but Sera Shah

I read this while in Afghanistan and it made a lot of things make sense. Shah is a British reporter of Afghan decent. She made her first trip to Afghanistan during the Soviet era dressed as a man traveling with the mujahdin.

A summer season interpreting record isn't compleate without considered one among each and every and each and every of the major communities in contact. Romance is purely as nessasary as action. i could advise Dean Koontz Dragon Tears or spectacular Thomas. Shel Silverstien's the position the Sidewalk Ends. James Joyce (some thing!). Marrion Zimmer Brandley's The Mists of Avolon. and some minutiae or "bathing room books". Comics are also a reliable relief from the uncomplicated... Animal Farm continues to be present day-day. and there is commonly my fashionable The Alchemist by making use of Paulo Choleo (an Argentinian writter even if it really is been translated to English). as well the very truth that you %.... have interesting and shop interpreting. ~Amy
