when i turn my computer on it goes straight to black screen that reads?
When i power up my ASUS aspire 5050(window vista), it flashes the product screen of course then goes to a black screen that reads the following.

it first happened when i dropped a windex bottle (closed) on the lower right hand corner of the labtop. i heard i might have damaged the harddrive so the computer is trying to boot from a different source?

A damaged hard drive could be a possibility. However in order to boot the computer, load your Windows Vista CD into the CD/DVD drive and allow the computer to boot from the disc. If you get it to start up, then check if the computer is reading the hard drive any at all by trying to open the drive. Sometimes all you need to do is remove the cables from the hard drive, wait a minute or two and reconnect.

Ya it may have.You may need to give it to an engineer to fix this.The cable connecting hard drive to the main thing may have got disconnected.It had happened to me once.But mine is a COMPUTER not a laptop

have you tried removing your hard drive in your laptop and try to assemble it again? maybe it will work
