Muting loud beep on XP laptop?

Ok, so when I say adjust the volume on my system bar, or connect my mobile device, my laptop will emit a very loud beep, even though I have the settings to no sounds. Does anyone know how to stop these loud beep? Even when my volume is muted, it'll beep loudly. Its so annoying. There has to be a way to turn it off. Any ideas?

Try going into your laptops BIOS and seeing if there is an option for the internal speaker, its usually used for error codes when the computer won't boot. See if there an option under you sound options in BIOS, I'm assuming it is integrated, to disable it.

Not without tearing apart the laptop. Its a speaker attach directly to your motherboard.
