Ladybug colony invasion?
A part of my window was open and a coldfront forced a bunch of ladybugs in my room. I thought they started to disappear or leave since I shut the windowbut then I find them in a corner. Haven't seen any larvae but there were some smaller ones.
What should I do?

Ladybugs hibernate for the winter. I had them winter over in the door jams of my car one year. It's quite interesting to warm up the car and have a few start flying around inside. Being a gardener by profession, and the go to bug lady at a nursery that I worked at for years, I know they are attracted by pheromones. When they get ready to hibernate, they give off their pheromones attracting others to the "perfect" place to sleep. When they are cold, you can actually sweep them into a dustpan and dump them into a paper bag. Lightly fold over the top so you can keep them in the bag while you're inside. Then take them outside and put them somewhere safe from the wind and rain like a garden shed. They'll cuddle close for warmth and when the weather warms, they crawl out and fly away. No, they won't hurt you or your house, but they can get a little smelly after a while. No, you don't want to kill them. They are vorascious predators in the garden and greatly beneficial. Yes, relocate them to somewhere you can both live with.
