i have MS and my brother wants to build a ramp?

I saw the ADA specifications on their website. I have a 24" rise. what is the maximum slope I can use for an existing house? If I use the 1:12 figure on their website, I will have a 24 foot ramp.( I think)

Your assumption is correct That is the best slope for wheel chair and easiest to negotiate. However Private residences are not required to comply with ADA ramp access guidelines. However, if a permanent ramp is to be installed at a private residence the local building code will provide the guidelines by which the ramp is to be constructed.
