Subwoofer's for my car?
Hi everyone. I'm planning on a sub upgrade for my car. I want to put pair of subs . I 've got amplifier MTX 8100D mono 1000w@2 Ohm & ported box 1.9cu.ft. for each sub. Just want to get feedback from you guys regarding these three sub's models...
Alpine SWR-1242D Type-R 12" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils
Infinity Kappa 12.1 12" subwoofer with 4-ohm voice coil
JBL Power Series P1224 12" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils
which would give out a heavier bass. I've tried infinity on my other car and I'm happy with it, but I'm open to suggestions... Thanks y'all

here's how to get the 2ohm load at the amp http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configura...
i would go with a set of CVRs (800watts RMS total) or a set of L5s (1200watts RMS total) or out of those go with the JBLs

If you get 2 12 inch alpines that are 2 ohm DVC subs and wire them down to a load of 2 ohms then your subwoofer will be perfect since the RMS of the subs are 500 watts.

from what i have learned i would go with the JBL or the Alpine...infinity has good treble but not great bass and i would also run a SERIES for the subs to make them 2 ohm.

if you want one of those from the list go with JBL. They are very impressive! I would recommend Kicker CVRs over all of them though
