Can you join the army if you're short-sighted?

We live in the UK, and my boyfriend is wanting to join the army, but hes worried as he is short-sighted?

Can he wear contacts or glasses?

Or is there no chance? Hes wanting to the on the frontlines.

    Yes he can join the British Army if he is short sighted. He will be able to wear contacts or glasses.

    He can join he'll just have to wear really ugly glasses at boot camp. After he can wear normal stuff. (That's assuming short-sighted is the same as near-sighted)

    Yes. My dad was a soldier for 25 years and he's severley short sighted

    I have 20-600 vision and the US Army has been feeding and paying me for over 20 years. They even sent me to Iraq - twice!!

    I don't know about the Brits so you should ask a recruiting sergeant to make sure.
