    Ingredients:

    for the base:

500g./1 lb./3 cups plain flour, white or wholemeal

1 packet of easy blend dried yeast

approx 200 ml./1 cup warm water but keep adding until you get a good dough

    topping:

1 tin chopped tomatoes (approx. 400g/14oz.)

    2 tablespoons dried mixed herbs

2 tablespoons olive or sunflower oil

    salt and pepper to taste

1 small tin of mushrooms or/and sweetcorn (optional)

sesame seeds for sprinkling on top

Mix the flour with the yeast and add the water gradually. Mix well (with your hands is best) and then knead for a couple of minutes until the dough is fairly smooth. Place on a large greased baking tray and flatten into desired shape (ie. - circle). Leave in a warm place while you prepare the topping: Mix together the tomatoes, herbs, oil and seasoning in a bowl and then spread over the pizza base. If using the mushrooms/sweetcorn - coat them in a little olive oil and arrange on the top of the pizza. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake at 200 C/400 F for 15 to 20 minutes until ready.

Wow! A lot of questions at once. Some good sites were just listed by, and here's more stuff: 1. This was answered by others quite well. 2a. I and my wife typically live on less than $35 a week combined. Here's the trick: Get a thrift store bread machine for $5 or so and make your own bread: I've timed it and it takes less than 90 seconds to make (and a few hours to rise and cook) once you have a recipe. Costs less, tastes better. Get a crockpot and blender also. 2b. Cheap foods that pack a lotta nutritional punch: lentils (they cook faster than beans), rice, spinach, onion, raw almonds (almond milk is EASY), citrus fruits, tomatoes, and some frozen veggies will go a long way. Make lots of cooked/stewed lntils & veggies over rice that you can pack with you easily. 3. There are soooo many sites with recipes. I listed Vegan Lunch Box below, but Google "packing vegan meals" or "college vegan meals" for a HUGE list. 4. Almond milk is the most drinkable and is cheap (and fast) if you make it yourself from raw almonds. I agree with others that soy and rice milks are better for cooking.

sorry, not too sure about any recipes. But i know a really good spread of hummus to put onto your pizza. First just go to your nearest COSTCO and look for Sabra Mediterranean hummus. IT IS SOOOOOO GOOD, YOU HAVE NO IDEA. try it to see if you like it. i hope that you do:)
