Yep, it's 100% real. Actually there is a $100,000 winner everyday, but you have to understand something. McDonald's is a multi-billion dollar company. The monopoly advertising ploy lasts for roughly 2 months. 100,000 x 61 days = $6,100,000. Lots of money right? You're correct, but the increase in sales due to people TRYING to win the competition more than easily compensates for this ridiculous payout to their customers. It seems like there's no way that they could afford to do it, but really it's incredibly feasible by a global conglomerate like McD's.
Also, the winnings are subject to taxes, so after Uncle Sam takes his cut you're only getting about 72,000. Still a significant amount of money, but it's no 100,000.
So yeah, there's you business lesson for the day, lol. Hope I helped! :D

McDonald's Monolopy is a big Joke... Just another way to get people to go eat their food to make another Dollar.. It's a big Scam.. I do take my teenagers to McDonalds still but its not cause of the Monopoly, it's because I dont feel like cooking and they love McDonald's

Scam, 2 are always easy to get, while the last one is impossible. People just keep playing trying to get the last piece thus making McDonalds gain ALOT of money

I am glad you asked this , because if you have a piece & log in & give your code, it doesn't say oh you have that piece of property, you roll & get a different property, that you land on., So I wasn't sure how real it was either. I still don't know why they give you a property on your box, or cup, if that isn't the one you really have! It is very confusing & I consider myself some what Intelligent.

It's real, but they only print a preset number of winning pieces (look at the odds sheet they distribute to see how many winning pieces are printed.) The chances of winning anything substantial are close to zero, but the way they advertise and distribute an abundance of non-winning pieces with their food items can make you feel you are "close" to winning even though you are not.

It's real... But the chances of winning are slim. To calculate your chance of winning you have to divide the number of all the specially marked containers but the number of customers who buy them x 100.

They have a real winner, but it's a ploy that you'll eat more food, which will more than make up for the cost of the prize.
