It is illegal to put flyers on the OUTSIDE of a mailbox?

Bad idea to go anywhere NEAR mailboxes. Something turns up missing or someone is just having a bad day, and it's suddenly your problem

It isn't illegal, however you name and number are on those flyers and you will surely irritate people.

Remember that you are trying to drum up business. Call your postal station and see how much unaddressed mail outs will cost. It is usually pennies per page and you will have the delivered to many many people, directly into their mailbox by the postman.

Try going to the post office and sending them out you pay a bulk rate and the post office delivers to the zip code(s) of your choice you don't need all the addresses just the zips then your flyer's are inside the mail box.

Here is your answer. You can't put anything in or around any portion of the mailbox because it could interfere with the delivery of paid postage.
