the best and most common used ones thats not banned

solemn judgment, it negates magic, trap or monster at the cost of halve of your life point, its most commonly used in top decks because its playability.

crush card virus, one expensive card, but the best of the best. you get to look at your opponents hand, field, and all cards they draw for 3 turns and destroy all his monster thats 1500 atk or more.

anyway there's REALLY a big list of takin down alot of your opponents monsters for example:

Raigeki (Banned)

raigeki break (Recommended)

tribute to the doomed (Recommended, tribute 1 card and destroy one monster on the field)

offerings to the doomed (Recommended)

trap hole (Recommended easily springable)

bottomless trap hole (recommended, reason why is b/c you can remove from play that monster: however it's summoned i think)

acid trap hole (Defensive monster trap

dark hole (good for alot of combo decks)

mirror force (Springable Trap based attack good for alot your opponents attack position monsters)

dark mirror force (Remove from play defensive monsters on your opponents side of the field)

radiant mirror force (Good if 3 or more monsters in attack mode are on your opponents side of the field)

smashing ground (strongest defense?)

hammer shot (good but not entirely garbage)

that's pretty much all i can think on right now.

well it is pretty good, u can't use heavy storm but rumours say its coming off the ban list. also, yes malev. catastrophe is good. the wipes out the back field, u just need some wrong monsters and get ur opponents life points to go down. i would use cards like MST or gust tornado, nobleman extermination, magic jammer, trap jammer and divine wrath. those work very effectively cause they negate and are counters (chances r ur opponent might not b able to negate them).
