What started women shaving their legs?
I mean, obviously when humans first existed, they were the same. So it's what everyone was used to. Men couldn't have found it unattractive, because they didn't know any better. Atleast that's what I think. So what made women start shaving their legs and armpits, and how come it wasn't okay for men to do the same? Just curious.
Well, it could be a feminine thing, but how did they know it's "feminine". They didn't know things like that. It's the world today that tells us things like that.
I have a very random mind. I think of the most unusual questions like this on a daily basis, lol.
So basically... stupid fashion people! lol.

in ancient greece and in egypt both men and women waxed.
i think it is because of a pattern of beauty and femininity. for example, there are women that almost don't have body hair, like the nordic europeans and the asian women.
the latinos have much more, as well as the arabians the africans. that was to do with the weather. the tone of skin and hair follicles are darker, as well as the body hair. so i think it was a question od democratization, in this level, because they can be considered, when comparing, more feminine women because they are more different then men.
but this is my point of view.
don't know about the men though.i would probably say that was a question of religion - the non alteration of the human body created by god.
because woman stopped removing their hair on the dark ages, the middle age. there was much poverty, myth and religion in europe.

Interesting question. I'm sure the modeling/fashion industry had something to do with it....
nice smooth silky legs probably looked better on film than hairy icky ones....
Jeesh, what made you think of this?

Depilatory creams:eeew smell/redness/itchiness and not to mention the time they consume in doing it and the wasted money on buying those...)

maybe some women had really light hair which was found attractive and other women with darker hair wanted that same effect?
