Should i feed my snake when shedding?

I just bought a red tailed boa yesterday. She is 2 and 1/2 feet long. The guy I bought her from said that it's time to feed her but she is shedding. Should i still feed her or should i wait until she is done shedding to feed her?

Really depends on the snake, during his/her shed she can be very agitated and might not be in the best mood. She is using a lot of energy to get that shed off. If you do choose to feed the snake while she is shedding make sure to keep a close eye on the snake to make sure its prey doesnt bite her. When they are shedding they cannot see well (even worse than normal) due to the glazed over eye caps. She will be fine if you dont feed her during the shed but make sure after it you do, she will be starving

The rule is not to feed while a snake is in shed. I would wait till after she has completed shedding simply because, when snakes are in shed, they cannot see very well and they are irritable. If you get into the habit of feeding your boa when it is shed, one day she could lash out at you and mistake your hand for food. Could you just imagine this accident happening when your boa is fully grown!. Just make sure she gets a feed right after she sheds because that will be next on her "to do list".

It doesn't matter if she is shedding or not. The only time you shouldn't feed them is when they are in the cloudy eyes stage of shedding. My corn snake gets cranky and scared when he's like that as he cant see very well. After that point he'll eat whatevers going!

you can if she will eat. sometimes they will get a bit lethargic when they are shedding. if you are feeding live do NOT feed if her eye caps are on, it can be hard for them to see and may get scared from prey. also since snakes do not have to eat more than once every week or two, it is not as though it could hurt her to wait a bit longer.

Snakes naturally shed to get new skin because they old one is getting ancient. But that doesn't affect their eating, they will still eat.

Its really up to you if you want to feed her. she will try to go after it but will most likely miss and get frustrated because like every body said she cant see very well. i personaly wait with my snakes
