Question about paypal... 'payment pending'?
I recently sold something on ebay, and paypal put a 'hold' on the payment. I'm not sure why, since I've never had this problem before. I told the buyer that I would ship the item immediately once the payment has cleared. It was a pretty big sale, so I don't want to SEND the item before the payment has cleared. Why would paypal put a hold on a payment? Does it have anything to do with the monetary amount? Are they waiting for me to ship the item before they release the funds into my account? If so, that doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Hope someone can help! I don't want to keep the guy waiting too long, but I don't want to send the item before I am 100% sure the funds are 'processed'.

If they paid you via a e-check through pay-pal, which means they are debiting the amount out of their checking account, not their pay-pal account balance, Pay-pal will wait until they verify that the funds can be debited from the buyers bank account before they will release the funds to you. Just like a check clearing.
