Does showing sensitivity mean you are insecure?
I am on a forum, and somebody said that sensitivity means insecurity and therefore I was insecure. I believe he is totally wrong, on what we are debating I don't feel insecure about, I feel passionately about it, therefore I am debating back what I believe. Does that make me insecure?

Ha...no. Insecurity is when you are afraid to show certain parts of yourself. It's not insecure to be sensitive. It's more insecure to hide your feelings! You can be sensitive and secure or sensitive and insecure. Sensititivity just has to do with your perception to emotions.

It doesn't mean you're insecure if you believe in something passionately and are not afraid to fight for what you believe in. I believe it is a strength to be able to show your true feelings its just that some people don't know how to deal with it when you do so maybe they're the insecure one???

No it doesn't. But if you are too sensitive about some things you could be a little insecure. Like for example this person clearly upset you regarding this. But I wouldn't know I didn't get to read both sides.

Making a brash judgement such as they did shows the real insecurity. Being sensitive just proves you're an exceptional human being.

I do not know, maybe...Truely I know is showing your emotions like grief, depression mood, crying near to people is not a good thing. At least they may think you have a problem, you are not an enjoyable person etc...Sometimes some insecure people do it, because they expects concern, love...
It is okey if it rarely happens.

but, no i dont see how this person has put those 2 together.. maybe senstivity and being a push over/soft personality.. but i think you are right there.
