Midi Keyboard with built in USB or standard midi keyboard and USB/Firewire interface?

I have a New style MacBook Pro with 2.4 Ghz dual core, 4Gb ram (so performance wont be a problem....) , which would be better?

I'm always in the camp to have a keyboard controller that actually has a MIDI out, not just a little usb out. That way, in the future, you can chain devices (through midi I/O and thru ports) and you have the capability of hooking it up to old school synths/drum machines/anything w/ a midi port to control that piece of hardware. It's an actual standard, as opposed to various usb keyboards from different manufacturers which all require different drivers.

My vote: get the midi keyboard and pick up a cheap m-audio midiman midi sport - or go for the firewire audio interface w/ audio inputs/etc.
