A Furby (plural Furbys or Furbies, according to Tiger. Co.) is an electronic toy, more specifically, a robot, made by Tiger Electronics which went through a period of being a "must-have" toy following its launch in the holiday season of 1998, with continual sales until 2000. Furby sold 1.8 million units in 1998, 14 million units in 1999, and altogether in its three years of original production, Furby sold over 40 million units, and its speaking capabilities were translated into 24 languages. Furbys were the first successful attempt to produce and sell a domestically-aimed robot. A newly purchased Furby starts out speaking entirely Furbish, the unique language that all Furbys use, but are programmed to speak less Furbish as they learn more English. The more English they learn, the more they "grow", thus placing them under the autonomous robot category.
In 2005, new Furbys were released, with voice-recognition and more complex facial movements, among many other changes and improvements.

LoL. I have a furby still! It's hard to describe. It kinda looks like a small gremlin. It has fur all over. It's about 5 or so inches tall with no hands or feet. It has ears like a cat and very large eyes that open and shut. When you press its back, it starts spewing sounds at first. Supposedly it's talking in its own language, and to help you understand it, the doll comes with a little pamphlet to translate words into English. It tells you what it wants you to do. It says things like: Scratch my back. A couple of other things that I don't remember. Eventually the battery powered doll, starts speaking English. The more you interact it with it, the more English it speaks to you. However, I think it's only programmed with a couple of phrases. It's kinda like bigger, furrier, less evolved tomogachi game.
I bought mine at Kmart, but that was years and years ago. Definitely do a google search!

Furby's are a toy from the nineties. Little robots basically that learn to imitate you. There were regular Furby's and Baby Furby's Furby Friends etc. Yeah I think you are right in the cost range but I don't know that they make them anymore, I haven't seen one in a while.

lol, I've seen a furby before! My cousin had one. They're these little talking bird-like animals. I think that there used to be a cartoon or something for them. The only one that I've ever had was from a Happy Meal.
This tells you alot about a furby! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furby)
Hmm..places like ebay, walmart.com, amazon might have them. If you want to get a newer one, well..idk. Hope I helped!

An irritating demon-like electronic semi-plush toy from the mif to late 90s inspired by the creatures from the movie Gremlins.

Draw a pentangle on the floor in your own blod. Put the Furby in it, then set it on fire. Read some Bible quotes backwards. Then move to Ireland.
