Funny you should post this now, lol... I have a 10 and 7 yr old boys and a 15 week old boy. Last night I was pumping and the baby needed changed. My 10yr old wanted to help and I thought, 'it is only wet, no biggee' so I let him change the diaper. Well, he laid my son on the couch and turned to reach for a diaper and off the baby went! He landed on his back, which scared the heck outta me and hit his head. I started to freak a lil until I saw the look on my older sons face. He was mortified, he didn't mean to hurt the baby and he felt so bad. So after calming the baby down I got my older son and told him I wasn't upset and he shouldn't be either.

I will tell you the same thing I told him:

It happens to the best of us, lol. I told him how I had let him roll off the couch on accident when he was a baby. Then my sis called and I told her about it and she said, 'oh ya, my hubby let our oldest fall off the couch and the second girl fall from the swing cause she wasnt buckled.

So... it happens. As long as the baby is acting fine and his pupils are the same size (the black parts of the eyes)... and if there is something wrong, it will be a noticeable difference. And as long as the 'soft spot' on the top of the babies head is not buldging, everything is O'tay!!!

Oh, I just reread your question and your bro is 8 months old!!!! He is totally fine!!! Both my boys were about 6 months old and crawled downstairs and fell 5-8 stairs.

Don't worry, just keep an eye on him, he is fine.

:) Hope this helped!!!! And don't get to upset with lil bro (7yr old)... that age really just wants to help and be the 'big brother' for once. He totally didn't want or intend to hurt the baby. Just calmly let him know that that is why you don't set lil brother on the couch by himself.

    Good Luck!!! :)

Things are probably fine, but it's smart to be cautious with an infant his age.

The scratch is unimportant. Has his behavior changed?? Is he slowing down, acting tired? Are his eyes focusing? Any changes you can note for us?
