Any suggestions on driving answers?
I'd like to know how you successfully posit a question to receive quality/ a quantity of answers... Is ambiguity in the tag line a good way to draw people? Does clarity in the tag line cause more limited but higher quality responses?
What about time of day, or day of the week?
Curious if you've noticed trends to drive the desired traffic.

Well, since I do spend waaayy too much time on here, I have noticed trends in the questions that get many responses.
The biggest thing is to have a catchy title. It's what draws people in. There are so many other questions popping up every few seconds that you have to get people to look at yours quickly, before it moves over to the next page.
Most of the answers you get are going to be within the first 10 minutes of posting the question, unless you have contacts, then they will see your question later and might answer it for you.
I also think time of day plays a part in how many answers you get and from what type of people you get to answer it. If you ask a question in the middle of the day, you will get mostly stay-at-home moms and people who are bored at work and on Answers.
I like to ask my big questions at about 6 or 7 p.m. There's always lots of people online at that time and I think it's when you'll get the most and the most diverse answers.
