I love the handmade blanket my husband's mother made for my oldest daughter. That is STILL her BLANKET and probably will be for a long time to come.
Handmade items are always very nice.
Items that are about special time spent with baby....certificates for professional photography, baby massage kits, handprint kits, music to enjoy together.
Most useful gifts were the colorful socks my cousin gave me (socks sure do disappear when you have a newborn!), What To Expect the First year (book), DIAPERS DIAPERS DIAPERS.

Anytime someone makes you feel special when you are pregnant it is nice. Gifts that a lot of thought are put into are always so welcome. Gifts that are beautiful and useful are great, too!

Baby Shower "Guess What's In The Bag" Game (Materials: Paper Bags of different sizes to fit different size items, items listed below, pen) - You will need 10 paper bags. For fun, use colored ones. On the front of the first bag put a letter "B", the second "A", third "B", fourth "Y", and so on spelling out "B A B Y S H O W E R". Inside each bag is an item for the baby beginning with the letter on the outside of the bag. Guests cannot pick up the bags. Display them on a table so they can see how big the bags are. Whoever guesses the most correctly wins. Here is an example of what you might put in the bags: B - Bottle, brush, booties, burp cloth A - Aspirator, apple sauce B - Bib Y - Yellow Rubber Ducky (you may have to give a clue for this one) S - Spoon, soap, shampoo H - Hat, hanger (baby size), headband O - Onesie, oil, oragel W - Wipes, wash cloth E - Ear suringe, ear ache medicine R - Rattle, receiving blanket, rash medicine

I had 3 baby showers and all of them had diaper raffles, so my son is 4 months old and just last week I bought my first pack of diapers...so that helped out a lot. Most useful was the baby bouncer and posture chair....and most treasured is the bassinet my mom refurbished that over 30 of our family members have slept in, including my mom and her twin sis.

most treasured is a huge toss up. it is between 2 blankets. One was made fror my son by MY grandma (and she has made me 5 or 6 of them). She has had a stroke and a heart attack and is very difficult to understand now, but can still crochet with the best of them and made him a beautiful blanket that still smelled like her when I opened it!! I cried!! The other blanket was handmade by my best friend. She does NOT craft...at all. My friends call me "Martha Stewart" as I am the crafter, but since I handmade her and her son blankets she wanted me to have a handmade one too so she made me a knotted blanket and made me cry so hard at her thoughtfulness. She was so proud of herself, and I was so proud of her too!!
Most useful would be either the swing or the Jumperoo...both are fantastic!!!!
I cant decide what was my "best gift". I git so many wonderful and thoughtful gifts!!!!!!!!

Well, for some odd reason no one got me diapers for my shower, lol. I got a lot of clothes that I didnt need as much as other stuff. Gift cards was great. My travel system and swing were great, I was very thankful to get those.

A diaper tree was the most appreciated gift since it was hand made for the baby and I. Not only did it have diapers to use on it but also attached to it were a thermometer, medicine syringe, baby motrin, nail clippers, files, etc. All of these items were used.

My mom and others put together a quilt and tied it. Now it's a loved baby blanket. It was warm when I needed to wrap her up, and it is something specially made for her, not storebought, and the memories of the baby shower are tied into it.
