Hello, I am bleeding heart democrat. I have been married to the coolest man for a little over a year now. We had a little boy just over 6 months ago. He is the LIGHT OF OUR LIVES. I am so glad that I am finally a mom. I work part time at night so my husband can watch him at night. I didn't wait 32 years to have a kid and then put him in daycare. Anyhow I am on cloud nine and feel free to join me in my excitement.
groin hernia surgery.....?
My husband is going in for a groin hernia surgery. The doctor said he would be sore for a few days and ABSOLUTELY no lifting for 6 weeks. I have a friend who said he could even get up to go to the bathroom for 5 days without help....any men out there that can share their experiences.....
1 AnswerPain & Pain Management1 decade agoWhat should I feed my PICKY baby who just turned one years old?

8 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoHow do you tell a friend to watch her kid better?
My friend has a 17 month old and I have a 10 month old. We have known each other for 12 years, and even were roommates in college. Now since we live near each other and have kids that are close in age ( both our first kids) we take them out alot together. Almost everywhere we go, she relies on the other moms to watch her kid. I am getting sick of it. For example at a christmas party we went to, there was a fire in the fireplace and she let her kid down and he was walking all over and she sat down on the couch, her kid by the fire and her far enough away, with lots of people coffee tables and her in the MIDDLE of the couch......I normally just tell her.....hey hey get your kid, but if something happens to him i will kick her butt. So what should I do? Should I tell her how I feel or bite my tongue?
5 AnswersParenting1 decade agohow much food should I give my 9 month old?
Let me start by saying my baby isn't UNDERFED he LOVES to eat! I breastfeed him morning noon and night, and a few times in between. He gets cereal and baby fruit puree in the morning, baby veggie puree at noonish and cereal and veggie or fruit puree for dinner. His dinner portion is pretty much almost a cup and a half of food. He sleeps 730 pm-6am. Can you feed a 9 month old too much? He turns his head away when he is full, although that is rare
thanks for your input.
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoNIGHT TIME NURSING....MOMS I NEED YOUR ADVICE.?
Hi everyone, I have caused a little problem routine. I went back to work, only nights and only m/w/f from 6pm to 11pmish. Well let me start with my son is 8.5 months and I still breastfeed him. He gets cereal and baby food 3 times a day. He doesn't take a bottle that great, he prefers boob of course. So I nurse him at 5pm for about 15 then leave for work then daddy takes over and around 6-630 pm he gets his baby food cereal combo. Then around 730 he lays him down for bed. He is so good about going to sleep now here is the problem.....He wakes up around the time I come home at 1130ish to nurse.....so I nurse him......then I lay him back down and he sometimes sleeps til 1am or sleeps until 4-5 am then I just grab him and bring him in bed with me and nurse him because I am so tired. and we will sleep until 7-730. Now my question is how do I get this little bugger to sleep through the night. I could stay this course...but the prob is my hubby thinks that if i just stop nursin him at 11 he might stop waking up!!!???? Who knows. I don't want to let my baby go hungry, yet his last meal is at 630, shouldn't he be okay if I didn't feed him until 4-5 am?!! Thanks for your input.
10 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade ago6 mo old with eczema all over his back.?
My sons back is super red and patchy. The poor little guy.I have been giving my little one cool bathes every 3 days with the aveeno oatmeal powder stuff. I was putting burts bees baby lotion on his back but it seems to be worse. So now I have been putting the 100% pure lanolin that I had left over from my nipple soreness while breastfeeding. Have any of you had a kid with this and if so what products have you used to make things better. BY THE WAY I have the burts bees apricot oil. I use it too, it is alot easier to rub on his skin than the thick lanolin. I don't put both products on at the same time. I also wash his clothes , do the SECOND rinse and then ANOTHER wash with no so soap......The weird thing is if he is allergic to the detergent wouldn't the EZ be all over his body not just his back.. Where the diaper covers is perfect baby skin BTW.

10 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoAre you McCain voters getting nervous?
6 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhy are people voting Yes on 8?
I understand the religious aspect of marriage is between a man and a woman. But what if you aren't religious and your gay and you want to marry someone. Who are you to say I can't. That is discrimination that I can't get the same rights as you and your husband. By the way I am not gay, I am a woman married to a man. I just think that these hard core YES ON 8 People are discriminating. Gay people are human beings, and if they are a law abiding citizens they should have the same rights as any other straight person!
23 AnswersElections1 decade agoObama vs. McCain.........?
What if things were switched around? Think about it. Would the
country's collective point of view be different? Could racism be this
culprit???? [This most certainly must be a rhetorical question!]
What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage,
following the debate, including a three month-old infant and an unwed,
pregnant teenage daughter?
What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his college
graduating class?
What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?
What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair
while he was still married?
What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to
pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable
organization?
What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five? (The Keating Five
were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989,
igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger
Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)
What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?
What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included
discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?
What if Obama was the one who was known to publicly display a serious
anger management problem?
What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer distribution?
You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected a
reality, if the tables were turned, do you really believe the election
numbers would be as close as they are?
This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes
qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative characteristics in
another when there is a color difference.
And, think of this - the candidates' educational backgrounds:
Barack Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a specialization in
International Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna *** Laude
Joseph Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)
John McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899
Sarah Palin: Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism
Education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest offices
in the land as well as our standing in the world.
You make the call and Vote wisely
4 AnswersElections1 decade agoOne more question for the religious people...?
Why can't homosexuals marry each other? Just because it says that in the bible? The bible is just a book, written a long time ago and lots of stuff got jibber jabbered in it when it was translated.....God supposedly created all humans...gay and straight...What about HUMAN RIGHTS?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoThis question is for Hard core Christians...?
In 2004 78% of Evangelical Christians voted for George Bush...mainly because he is PRO LIFE. My question is why is it so important to make abortion a law but it's okay to go over to IRAQ and kill hundreds of thousands of innocent Civilians like me and you in the name of "WAR". Why do Christians support a presidential candidate ( McCain) mainly because he is PRO-LIFE yet he isn't willing to pull our troops out of IRAQ to save our troops and innocent Iraqi civilians....? Just a question, maybe I can get a clear answer.....
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoMoms help me with my baby...?
Hi everyone, I have a little boy who is 4 months old and I will be going back to work PART TIME at night mid november so that means daddy will be with him. Currently Dad leaves at 630a and gets home at 6 pm and only really hangs out with daddy for a brief time before I put him to be at 8 pm. He is a breast fed baby,( but will take a bottle with breast milk from daddy.) So here is the deal, my little boy loves to be held and when daddy gets home he'll hold him but after about 10-15 mins my son is over his dad and starts screaming for me. This frustrates my hubby and he is worried what it's gonna be like when I go back to work. Basically ladies I have a mommas boy and it hurts both of us when he cries when daddy is holding him....help with some suggestions. THanks moms!
8 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agobreastfed baby with mucousy poop.?
My son is almost 3 months old. Early on I learned that if I eat chocolate and strawberries he gets real bad gas. When my mom stayed with me the first 2 weeks of his birth she fed me cottage cheese and peaches every morn, and he didn't have mucousy poop, although the dairy might have made his stomach upset. It is only in the last 2 weeks that he had off and on (more so on) mucousy poops. I am thinking it could possibly be coffee? I have been having some of that every other day or so, but I don't know. The internet says cut out all dairy and wait a week or two, any other suggestions....I have tried my darndest to cut dairy, and sub with soy, but doc sears says to cut soy too.....what could it be and what did you do if you had this ugly smelly problem?

3 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agoMommy going back to work....???
I will go back to work PART TIME when my little boy is 5 months old. I need to work at least 24 hours to keep my health insurance for my family. We are not putting him in daycare...we are going to do this ourselves. Now here is my question for all you mom and pops out there. My hubby works M-F 7-5pm and I will work nights 6pm-11ish. Now I work 30 mins from home. Should I work 8 hours sat and sunday and two 4-5 hour shifts during the week or should I work three 5.5 hour shifts and one 8 hour weekend day. See I am torn on what to do. I still want to see my hubby, but if I am working both weekend days this might be a little challenging...and if I work 3 nights during the week I won't see him those days....So any suggestions would be great.
