Always end your workout with cardio. It's sometimes good to do a light warm-up jog before hitting the gym, but weights release fat cells that can be burned on the run aftewards.

You can do both or just one in a day, it's entirely up to you. It's also up to you whether you want to run first or exercise. If you are doing both in a day, I would recommend to have at least an eight hour gap in between so you have time to refuel your body with food. Also this helps you perform 100% on both workouts. Of course stretch before and after every workout and eat after workout.

I'd start walking, then work up to running. If you start running when you haven't been exercising at all then you will get burned out and maybe even injured. Start slow and work your way up. Hit the gym when you get into a regular routine.

Depends on which type of exercise you want to focus on. For example, running is my main focus, so I use gym exercises as a warmup for running/walking.

If you have no specific focus, then alternate and see which one you like best.
