What is an average hourly rate....?

... of a finish carpenter in the northeast? What can I expect (ballpark) to pay a company to... say... open a wall between two rooms to be a 8' encased opening?

Update:

more specifically, in the Boston area.

For a licenced contractor/carpenter you can expect $45-50/hr. Keep in mind that this is a small job and most companies have a minimum charge. Which may equate to a high rate per hour, but is normal.

FYI-Removing a section of a wall for such an opening is a structural alteration and DO NOT let just anyone cheap do the work.
