If the greatest common factor (GCF) is 479 that means that each number is a multiple of 479.

Let a be the first multiplier --> 479a

Let b be the second multiplier --> 479b

For one of these numbers to be even, a or b must be a multiple of 2. The other number should not be a multiple of 2. The logical choice is 3.

    So the numbers are:

    479 * 2 = 958

    479 * 3 = 1437

(Note: You could think of choosing a = 2 and b = 1, but then the two numbers would be multiples of each other. You need a and b to not be multiples of each other).
