Can you help me remember the name of a TV show from the 90's.?

I loved watching all those super hero kids shows from the 90's (Power Rangers, Big Bad Beetle Borgs, VR Troopers, Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog...) but there's one show that I can't remember the title for. The main character was an alien from outer space (obviously) and he was living with some family that (I believe) knew he was an alien and had these powers and kept his identity secret. I remember in one episode he watch the family's entire VHS collection. The mom couldn't believe how he could do that overnight and he said he fast-forwarded them because he could read the lips - even at that speed. He was a bug, I think a beetle of some sort. When he transformed, he would take a stance and make some kind of movement with his arms and say "Ecto-phase activate!". He had a green suit that looked like it had beetle antennae coming out the top of his head. I remeber later on in the series he 'upgraded' his powers and had a yellow suit. I also remember him joining the high school track team and beating like, every record there was at 1st...then when he realized he was only good because he was using his powers - he quit using them for his advantage. That's the most I can remember about the show. I loved watching it and I miss it. If you happen to know the name of it, please let me know. Thank you.
