What is the appdata folder in vista for?

What is this folder, where did it come from, and can I get rid of it?

    Don't get rid of it. It is for the programs you have.

    are you advantageous you have not have been given an appdata folder? i got here upon mine in 5 seconds by using finding from the commencing up menu. C:UsersCindyappdata i've got not considered a activity attempt to place in to a place that doesn't exist without a minimum of coming up the essential archives. in case you truly don't have the folder, can not your browse to place the activity in yet another place?
