What can I do to get rid of a bad crick in my neck?

Owch =( I must've slept funny, it's so so painful and I can't turn my head to the left past about 10 o clock (if that makes sense). I just wanna know what I can do to ease the pain, it's really bad. I know it's nothing major but the pain is!

First have a nice hot bath.

Then get someone to give you a soft neck massage.

And then lie down on the sofa with a nice hot water bottle under the painful area

Use ice on the area for fifteen to twenty minutes per hour. More than likely you pinched the capsule of one of the facet joints of the vertebrae. This will take a few days to a week or so to spontaneously clear. The use of ice will stop the swelling and pain that become inhibitory to any movement. You can also use a soft cervical collar to rest the neck and can be worn to bed at night to prevent any stress to the neck. Use only one pillow while sleeping. The use of a rolling pin can also help in this situation. Lie on the floor on your back. Place the rolling pin under your neck and just lie there for a while. You may also take the rolling pin and gently push it up towards the top of your head and hold it for a few seconds. Repeat this for a few times as this works as a very mild traction. As for movements only turn the head and neck away from the pain and never into it. With time you will be able to turn the head and neck normally. If the pain continues for more than a week make sure you see a doctor. A referral to a physical therapist might speed this process along but if you follow what I spelled out it should clear.

Have a soak in a hot bath to ease and tension in them muscles, try and work out the crick by slowly (and i mean slowly) rotating your head. Rub the sore part of your neck firmly or if it's difficult to reach ask someone else to.

Just keep turning it a tiny bit in one direction and then stop let the pain subside then turn it a bit more? get a heated pad or hot water bottle if u can manage it with your neck.

    Get better soon!

Take some tylenol, use some aspercreme on the area and use a heating pad to relax the muscles. Hope you feel better soon.
