How can I get my grandfather to improve his typing speed?

He got a laptop three months ago and sends me mails regularly...but his speed his terrible, it takes him ten minutes to type one sentence. I thought typing speed usually improved by the time you started used using a keyboard regularly...I mean, it's been over three months!

    I think he needs a typing tutor to take typing practice regularly. He may be not familiar with the keyboard layout, so he can practice from the home keys to other keys gradually, and then he can go ahead to take the advanced practice like words, sentences, even paragraphs.Very soon, I'm sure he can type as fast as you do.
