Can you help me build a gaming PC?
I'm a beginner looking to build a gaming PC after I lost money after buying Far Cry 2 and not knowing that an integrated graphics card would not allow playback :(
Anyway, can anyone give me advice as to what motherboard, CPU and graphics cards are best, second tier or lower? I want to build this computer to last me more than 2 years, but I'm willing to upgrade going forward (I just don't want to replace big things like the mother board or video cards often).
So what's a great motherboard, graphics card, etc.
I assume I'll need Vista and 4gb of RAM. Anything else you woudl reccomend?

okokok.. gimme a min to get u soecs, im starting this to get u in line....
i myself am looking 4 a comp, and i found newegg. after tons of research, i decided this is a good 800$comp:
dvd drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...
case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...
mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...
memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...

hard drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...
psu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...
video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...
OS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...
This setup is around 680$ without tax oe shipping, so that, with shipping, it is about 750ish. That leaves You 50$ to hire someone to build it, or, if You ar the one building it, get a sounblaster SE audigy sound card(the one I have works great:))for 30$. Or YOu can get 4 more gigs of ram. Good luck in building ur 1st computer, I havnt built one yet but hope to soon :)
Hunter F wants you to get a 3000$ system LOL! The best one I think is reasonable is a 1500$ system, then its to expensive to upgrade. The video card should lasst 2 years, and should play most* current/old games on med-high to high settings.
*=things made for graphics likecrysis.

Here what I would be going with, if you would tell us a budget it would be great but something to last two years I think I can cook something up.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... ------- Mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... ------ GPU get 3 of these.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... ----- PSU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... ---- CPU Overclock this and get after market heatsink
If you overclock this it should last you two years. Tri-Sli Graphics would be outrageous. If you could give a budget I could get it a little closer but with this build I think it'll cost like 1,250.
Also look at this GPU get three of them tri-Sli where it's at!
