There are so many variables to this question that there is not enough time to cover them all.
Basically, for an adult, 120/80 is considered "normal" but exercise can change it quickly and still be "normal". If the resting blood pressure upper number gets to 140 it is considered borderline high and can usually be handled with diet and exercise. If it reaches 150 it is considered high and the further up it goes the worse it is. You do not have to get much higher to be really bad.
The lower number is different, when it reaches 90 it is considered borderline, and when it reaches 100 it is high. Very little higher is called "stroke territory" by some in the medical industry.
Age has a lot to do with BP and the information above is for a resting adult, and is very general.
Infants, Children, Teens, etc. do not fit into these numbers. There are some younger people that when their BP reaches the 120/80 area considered "normal" for adults would have very high blood pressure.
If your blood pressure is high, it is a problem, and a big one. It will lead to heart, circulatory, and other problems including Stroke. Death from blood pressure problems has no age limit, and can kill infants to elderly.
If you think yours is high, contact a health professional and ask them. If you know the numbers, you can call the local County Health Office and ask them, they will advise you to see a Dr or tell you it is OK. If you know a nurse, paramedic, or someone else, ask them. They will be glad to advise. But do not delay. If it is high, see a Dr immediately.

Blood pressure readings are measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and usually given as 2 numbers. For example, 110 over 70 (written as 110/70). * The top number is the systolic blood pressure reading. It represents the maximum pressure exerted when the heart contracts. * The bottom number is the diastolic blood pressure reading. It represents the pressure in the arteries when the heart is at rest. Blood pressure varies in the following conditions:- Hypotension.BP.Less than 90/60 mmHg. Normal BP.Less than 120/80 mmHg. Prehypertension.(High normal BP) 120-139 / 80-89 mmHg. Hypertension-Stage (1).140-159 / 90-99 mmHg. Hypertension-Stage (2).160-179 / 100-109 mmHg. Hypertension-Stage (3) More than or equal to 180 / 110 mmHg..

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

The say 120/80 range is within normal limits. However, there is no true range of bp for age groups. It depends on alot of things.
