Well it's really up to you. What do you like best? The way your hair looks permed or the way your hair looks braded?
If you like it better braided, then keep doing that. Be careful with really tight braids because they cause sensitivity to your scalp and might cause breakage of your hair.
If you like the way your hair looks permed, then this is what you have to do. Make sure you don't braid your hair about 2-3 weeks before the perm process. Make sure they use a lighter source of perm (Not the strongest one) and the most important one: MAKE SURE THEY DON'T TOUCH YOUR SCALP WITH THE PERM. Sensitive scalp or not, the perm should NEVER touch the scalp because it will cause really bad burns.
You need to choose, either or, because if you decide to braid your hair after perming, you might cause much breakage and that's no good.
Hope this helps. :-)

The best person to ask is your hairdresser, simply because she will know the condition of your hair and your scalp. She can recommend what would be best for your head and your lifestyle. she'll be able to tell you what type of perm is best for you etcc... most give free consultations as well!
