Does anyone know of a diet that works when your taking psychotic medication?
I take medication for a mental disorder and the side effect is that it makes it hard to loose weight has anyone found a diet that works?

I take psychotic medicine also. To keep the weight off I eat small portions,and excerise more often.Try eating more healthy. I usually eat a apple abuot three hours before dinner. Hoped this help.
I knpw it is not much but I lost eight pounds doing it this way.

It's not about "diet". Forget it, I got so frustrated try diets, because I also take an anti psychotic.
I finally asked my Psychiatrist, and he was more than happy to help me.( I really didn't think he knew), because he never addressed it with me before.
He said to NOT diet, do not deprive yourself of anything, eat lots of fruit and vegetables, ( I was like NO WAY), but it really works. I now love 3 varieties of Apples, and I eat plums and peaches, and watermelon. I also eat frozen strawberry( u can get them in a bag).
I also buy fresh broccoli and cauliflower, fresh green beans, tomatoes, big portables mushrooms and heads of lettuce.
You get the idea? Just don't diet or kill yourself with cravings. Eat the damn snickers bar! Have the pudding. Just don't eat three snickers and 5 puddings!
Have 2 slices of apple pie, not half the pie.
Make sure you get outside and walk, walk walk. I go to the mall, 3 x a week, and walk all over, for 1-2 hrs. Then I go to the book store, and relax and read, and have a coffee.
There truly ARE ways to lose weight, without sadness and frustration.
I lost 6 pounds the 1st month, OK, not so great, but for me it was !
I felt like I had actually( and did) added more food to my diet, got some exercises and boom, the weight was less and less an issue.
Try it, go slow, and see your self esteem go up and your weight go down!
