If 30.0 L of oxygen are cooled from 200C to 1 C at ..10pts?

If 30.00 L of Oxygen are cooled from 200 C to 1 C at constant pressure, what is the new volume of oxygen?

i know the answer is 17.4 L, but why, can somebody show me the steps

    PV=nRT; rearrange to V/T = nR/P

    nR/P is constant (moles don't change; pressure doesn't change)

    V/T = V1/T1

    30.0 / (473 K) = V1/(274 K)

    V1 = 17.38

    17.4 L

    You can start by using the Ideal gas law: PV = nRT *where R is the constant equal to 0.08206

    since we are looking for volume, we can manipulate it as such:

    PV = PV <===(PV is being divided by nRT on both sides)

    nRT....nRT

    we can cross out the P's, R's, and n's because Pressure and number of moles are constant.

    then just plug in 30.00L for the V on the left side, 473 K for T on the left side, and 274 for the T on the right side.

    Hope this helps :)
