There are two nursing schools in Hawaii:
University of Hawaii:

Hawaii Pacific University:

As with any educational decision you should gather all the information you can from the schools and visit the campus if you can to see which you will like.

If you want a bachelor's degree, there is a choice of the University of Hawaii at Manoa or Hawaii Pacific University. For HPU you apply to the school of nursing up front & get accepted into the nursing program from the beginning. It is a private school & is more expensive. It is also the largest nursing program in the state. You should be able to matriculate in 4 years.
UH Manoa is a state school, so for in-state residents it will be less expensive. You do your pre-reqs & apply to the nursing program in your second year. It will take 5 years to get through the program. Both of the programs are quite competitive. If you want an ADN (which I know isn't what you asked about) there are other options.
I have heard that Chaminade plans to open a nursing program, but I don't know how soon that will happen.
Hope that helps.

The University of Hawaii at Manoa (www.hawaii.edu) is the best, for a BSN. Kapiolani Community College is a pre-nursing and LVN program, and articulates to UH. Maui Community College has just developed an RN program. Hawaii Pacific University has an RN program that is not as well accredited but is easier to enter (lower standards, www.hpu.edu).

Look for a school that is accredited. Beyond that, look at things you want in a school - class size, location, price, etc.
