What does presidential and vice presidential candidates John McCain and Sarah Palin mean when they say "pro a"?
Are they using code words and do they really mean white voters as "pro american" and"real americans" I am John the cab driver and not Joe the plumber and I want to know why Palin and McCain use those code words.

They think that if you vote for the Democrats that you are not "pro American". It is a way of instilling fear in people to not vote for the Democratic party.

They're trying to appeal to their exclusionary base. Fortunately, that base doesn't encompass the majority of Americans...and for that we can all be thankful, right, John?

They mean exactly what Kerry meant when he said Bush didn't identify with "Real Americans" and what Laura Ingraham meant when she said Kerry supporters weren't "regular people".
It has nothing to do with race. It's just politics as usual.
