What is a pathophysiology of a hip fracture?

    It can be due to osteoporosis which causes weakened bones which can fracture easily. Trauma (car accident, fall etc.) is also a cause of hip fracture. Avascular necrosis (loss of blood supply to the femur) can lead to fracture as well.
