Alltel contract is up and i want a new phone?

but if i renew the contract for 2 years i have to pay 89 dallors for the phone, where as if i was a new customer i would get the phone for free and $100. whats cant i do to get the new customer deal.

Update:

to clear it up if i was a new customer they would give me the htc touch and 100 dallors for signing up for a 2 year contract

Update 2:

why not? i should get the same deal a new customer does, if not better. how long do you have to cancel to be considered a new member

Update 3:

actually i have metro pcs and im getting the phone from my grandpas plan beacuse hes happy with the phone he has. i plan on having metro flash it to their service ( or doing it myself)

Update 4:

no.

i want to end up with an htc touch on metro pcs

im getting the phone from my grandpa via signing him up for a new contract because his 2 years are up.

how can i get the phone for the new customer price.

do you think they would enter me as a new customer if i told them i would switch companys if they dont?

Read the fine print on what the definition of a new customer is. I believe if you have ever been a customer with Alltel that you can never qualify as a new customer again. Have you thought about contacting the retentions department at Alltel. Sometimes they give better deals for locking you into a 2 year contract than what is readily available. Check it out. BTW have you thought about Sprint? They're plans are great and they have the HTC Touch.
