Spyware, Adware, Virus? Popup Pages Keep Opening?

When I got home from school, I found my computer completely flooded with these popup webpages such as themoviedownloader, searchme, and go211.

The computer was fine hours ago, and before I knew it, my anti virus said it was malfunctioned and now I keep getting spammed. Whenever I open up a browser or wait a bit, one of those web pages opens up again.

What's causing this and how can I get rid of it, It's adding tons to my stress.

My Adaware, Spybot, and antivirus isn't picking up anything.

You have a virus! & here’s how to remove it

(Try This First) Malwarebytes Anti Malware http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/... FREE EDITION (one of the free AV to Remove Antivirus 2009)

    Kaspersky AV 2009 http://usa.kaspersky.com/trials/home-users/anti-vi... 30 day trial

Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.

May not be required (Depending on severity & if so DO NOT) Once removed do so!

If Fails to remove do it in safe mode here’s how

    1. Log out and reboot your machine.

    2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.

    3. Select Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu.

    4. When the login screen comes up, log in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.

    5. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different.

    6. When you're finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode.

There are a few different Fake antivirus programs One was written by a guy in Russia who made over 5 million dollars a few years back by people actually shelling out money! ( The fake antivirus actually says it can remove the "viruses" by paying a certain amount of money). Of the fake viruses, there is one that is just a browser popup and is actually just a screen ( no payload at all). You may have run into this one. Otherwise you can check on the web for cleaning instructions Malwarebytes is one of the leaders in cleaning, Along with Eset and SuperAntiSpyware utilities.

Loads of malware in the wild utilize Windows vulnerabilities to produce misbehavior in browsers and systems. Defending Windows OS's isn't a single step, or a single application: it's layers of protection and procedures that must be done.

When PC's (personal confusers) misbehave (POP-UP's; going to weird, unrequested sites; goofy warnings; etc.), & apart from removing any malware already installed on your system, one step (of several) that should be done is this:

you must TURN OFF 3rd PARTY COOKIES. This helps reduce un-requested cookies ( = pop-ups & websites) from being displayed on your machine.

INTERNET EXPLORER: go to Tools> Internet Options> Privacy> Advanced: here check 'Override automatic....'; 'Allow session cookies'; 'Allow 1st party cookies'; & 'BLOCK 3rd Party Cookies'.

FIREFOX: go to Tools> Options> Privacy: here UN-CHECK 'Accept 3rd Party cookies'

OPERA, et al: not sure, check under 'options' for this.

Then, you'll have to EXTRACT MALWARE with Spybot, Ad Aware, and all available trusted cleaners & Anti-virus software, and suggested tools for specific malware threats.

Find the bulk of free security tools here:

Have nearly ad-free pages when surfing; get Firefox with these add-ons:

    NoScript: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722

    Flashblock: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433

    Add block plus: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/186...

If you already have an anti-virus program do not install another even if its free trial.

Sounds like you are using internet explorer, clear your cookies and history also but most importantly switch to firefox.

I used to remove viruses and fix pc's but switch to mac 2 years ago and all those problems went away, let me know how it goes....
