You can "legally" move out at any age. If you runaway and your parents don't go looking for you, it's not against the law.
However, you have to attend school until you're 16.
You're parents are your legal guardians until you're 18.
You can't sign any kind of contract (including renting an apartment) until you are 18. Can't open a bank account, etc.
So it doesn't do you much good to move out until you're 18.

1st you would be soooo dumb to move out of your parents, you don't know how good you have it. If you think living with them is annoying try living with someone else or living alone and paying all your bills..know how to appreciate what your parents give u...then again don't stay there for ever but at least until you finish college and get a great paying job to where you could fully support yourself and your desires. Stop being a baby and get your act together plz

At the age of 16 you can move out with a parents permission, they are still incharge of you though. At the age of 18 you can legally live on your own and are incharge of yourself. Your parents can not legally kick you out before the age of 18 though, without finacially supporting you.

You have to be 18, but the police aren't going to waste time on someone who is a 17 year old runaway.

Until you turn 18, you would be considered a minor and would need parental consent. You could however, petition the courts to emancipate you to an adult, which would supersede your parents rights of authority over you.

It can be 17 but you need to get a court order to do so. Usually if the judge sees that your parents are unfit to raise you or there are some other problems involved they will give you permision to be your own guardian.

That is true, but your parents have to emancipate you. This is a simple court procedure. If they don't really want you around either or agree that you should move out then it shouldn't be too hard.

Depends on the state law. Also, if you live in a large city, no one will come after you. They have enough to do with criminals and don't have time to worry about such things.
