Code system that uses flashing lights on/off?
Other than morse code?
I don't know where to ask this, so it's a repost. I'm doing an online riddle, and I have to figure out a coded message. My clue is that the code system involves "lamps" turning on and off.
Morse code doesn't work to decipher it. Can someone tell me other codes that use blinking lights to communicate?

Morse is normally used in radio or telegraph, but it is also used in light transmission - particularly in naval situations. You just see the dots and dashes instead of hearing them. Another form of visual transmission is semaphore, which does not use the morse code but flags held in prescribed positions for each symbol. This, of course, is the preferred method in daylight, but also in naval situations.

The three types of codes used today are the Morse code, the Continental Code and the Navy code. Hope one of them helps you answer your question
