  • What to wear to Rock of Ages musical? Casual or not?

Going to see this in NYC tomorrow, and it will be a hot day. Want to be comfortable. Normally I'd dress up for a show, but I'm thinking this is casual. I asked what to wear in the fashion section but got no answers.

Do people wear 80's jeans and clothes to this show, or do they dress nicely?

  • How many seasons has Survivor shown clips of Ponderosa?

I've just starting watching this season. CBS.com has episodes from season 16 (fans vs. favorites, in Micronesia) to Samoa. Are there earlier ones? I'd love to see some past Survivors going off about being voted out!

  • Recs for a good whodunnit mystery book?

Can anyone recommend some good mystery novels? I would like to read a true whodunnit, figure-it-out-based-on-the-clues, kind of book. Not just a crime story, but one where the reader can really try to participate.

I have already read a lot of Agatha Christie books. I would prefer something modern, if possible, but it doesn't have to be. Thanks!

  • Amt. of time to beat Metal Gear Solid 1?

Anyone know, on average, how long it takes to play through Metal Gear Solid 1, on the Playstation? I've never played any in the series before, so I expect it to take me a while to get the hang of it.

  • Lost motivation to exercise, any suggestions welcome?

I workout (cardio and weights) at home in the evening. I've tried the gym or w/friends, but I prefer to get it done by myself, then get on with life. I've been fine like this for years.

The last 2 months I have ZERO motivation, and have been skipping workouts. When I skip, I don't even care all that much. That's not like me. I've made changes due to boredom before, but this is different. The stupidest things stop me, like if it's cold inside, and I don't feel like changing into workout clothes. So I don't, and just sit around.

I used to worry about looking good, and that would get me moving. I'm still in shape (though I have lost some of my gains) but looking a certain way doesn't seem to motivate me anymore. I have been very down on myself lately, for other reasons... things I think I can't change like where I am in my life right now, people I'm around, other things about the way I look, etc. Working out has become not important, and doesn't make me that happy.

I don't want to be this way, but I can't snap out of it. How do I get that drive back? Any suggestions, exercise-related or more personal, are welcome.

  • Code system that uses flashing lights on/off?

    Other than morse code?

I don't know where to ask this, so it's a repost. I'm doing an online riddle, and I have to figure out a coded message. My clue is that the code system involves "lamps" turning on and off.

Morse code doesn't work to decipher it. Can someone tell me other codes that use blinking lights to communicate?

  • Is it ever a good idea to send a letter to an ex?

I am thinking of sending a short letter (very short) to my ex. He is about to have a baby with his new gf. I just want to say congratulations. I don't want to add anything about when we dated, and I don't want to get back together.

We ended our relationship on bad terms, really bad terms. I thought I'd be the "bigger man" here...and try to put an end to the hate between us, and everything that never got said. But I'm not sure it would come off that way. Does it seem desperate?

    Any thoughts/ comments are appreciated.

  • Are Usborne books really educational and interesting for kids?

Or are they a rip-off? What's so special about them?

  • Is there a reality TV show about hookers?

I overheard a conversation about a show that's been on since the 90's, where they mike up hookers while they are picking up johns. It's about the same group of women. Could it be on something on HBO? They are currently "revisiting" the same women. This just sounds like something I'd like to watch.

  • which ipod should I buy?

I run, so the nano's a good choice, but I like a lot of music, so 8gb might not be enough. I don't care about video, but the full size one can hold all my songs.

  • Why would a man save women's perfume samples? (the cards in magazines)?

My male friend has a bunch of them stacked on his desk. He's been doing this for at least a year, so I don't think he's testing them out to buy a gift for someone. It just seems like such an odd thing to save. I would feel weird asking why he does it.
