I live in New York State. As this is historically [and predicted to be in 2008] a Democratic state...?

If i wanted to vote for McCain, should I waste my time?

Your question is reasonable. However, I want to give you some information on Senator John McCain.

I study what my candidates have to offer the American citizens. This John McCain has not taken care of his first wife. His attitude was very brutal when he returned from the service as Prisoner-of-War. This essence continued with his displacement of his first wife who had been injured very badly in a car accident. She was 4" inches shorter after 23 surgeries. His three children couldn't understand why he was not coming back home. This was really heartbreaking to Carol McCain and his children who had waited for his safe return after five years as Prisoner-of War. He was brutal to his first wife and divorced her shortly afterward. He then married Cindy McCain who was 18 years his junior, accepted her with $100 million inheritance in tow and political help from her father. You must read about what Senator John McCain did to get where he is right now in 2008.

I always wonder why NY goes solidly democratic. This year of course Hillary Clinton won NY. Majority of the voters were Hillary supporters. So why are they backing Obama? If all those Hillary voters voted for McCain, then NY would go for McCain. Let's for once make New York a red state this time!!

It's not a waste of time. What about the down ticket races?

I'm an Obama supporter and I still think you should go ahead and vote. In the national totals, your vote will still be seen. And if Obama wins by just a small percentage in the national numbers, it'll look like less of a mandate.

Vote for McCain, even if NY votes for the President who will (if elected) lead us into another Great Depression, at least you can tell your grandchildren you voted the right, sensible way.

Why do you think that your vote is wasted based simply on history or predictions. Your vote counts either way.

no, If the democrats were running an electable white man, it would be a waste of time, but the majority of NY is white and the bigots who took back NYC from David Dinkins by voting for Giuliani are probably pissed off that they wound up with a Black governor, and are hungry for a democrat defeat.

No, vote. Then call all your friends to vote. Have each of them call a friend and so on. We can win this, We MUST win this. It's time to stand up and do the right thing.

Every votes counts. You should exercise your right to vote regardless of the polls are telling you. The polls have been wrong before and they will be wrong again.

Only people in swing states should vote, according to your logic.
